In a bizarre partnership that challenges conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the formal statement, "An unusual confrontation draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where hints of banned practices and monstrous metamorphoses reverberate through the shadows." The plot presents a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a clandestine cult.
The mission centers on "bizarre experiments and a fearsome foe" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Changes
The teaser showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the hostage, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Additional Material
Players who finish the quest will obtain an exclusive katana together with multiple objects secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

- Mikasa costume for Naoe

Latest Free Story Content
This update also adds the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This playful adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature techniques: Naoe debuts a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
